Day 4 - Lake Ianthe to Franz Joseph

Day 4 - Lake Ianthe to Franz Joseph

on: January 20th, 2013

Tuesday 17th July 2012:

I woke up this morning frozen. I need a sleeping mat to provide insulation. We had an early start which was nice and managed a good day. There were blue sky’s all day which showed off the amazing scenery. We seem to manage our breaks, and rest and refueling much better. Bacon and eggs for breakfast, meat pie for lunch, plenty of water and lots of sweets. Great day of filming as well.

I had been training for this trip many weeks prior and we tackled some decent inclines and managed quite well. My legs felt strong. Dylan has a sore knee? We found a recommended backpackers and managed some laundry, a few beers and warm bed for the night. We sat at the bar and planned our next few days with many attractions to see. Dylan had pre planned distances between landmarks and we discussed where to go and how long we needed etc.
